Our Zoo's Importance!
The El Paso Zoo provides a unique view of wildlife. While television, books, movies and videos can provide factual information, they cannot match the emotional impact of seeing live animals.

Your El Paso Zoo provides an introduction to the diversity and wonder of life on earth. For some people, a visit to our zoo may be their only experience with animals outside their neighborhood.

Living animals generate an unparalleled enthusiasm and opportunity for learning. This eye-to-eye contact fosters positive attitudes toward wildlife, wild places and the importance of conservation. El Paso Zoo education staff, along with provessionally trained volunteer docents, annually make over 100,000 education contacts through summer camps, workshops, exhibit hosting and roving with education animals. Over 300,000 people visit the El Paso Zoo each year to see over 1,500 animals of 175 different species. Our zoo is accredited by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association and is the zoological attraction for the entire west Texas, southern New Mexico and northern Mexico region. Public education at the El Paso Zoo increases interest, knowledge and concern for wildlife and their diminishing habitat.

The "Traveling Safari Educational Outreach Program" takes the show on the road! El Paso Zoo education staff and volunteer docents take valuable conservation programs out into our community to local schools, libraries, headstart programs, nursing homes, day care facilities, juvenile detention centers, Fort Bliss and other organizations. Over 50,000 people are personally visited off the zoo grounds annually.

CHARITABLE BEQUESTS
A gift to the El Paso Zoological Society can take many forms, ranging from a cash legacy to a share of your estate residue. A gift without strings allows us to apply the funds to our most pressing needs - but perhaps you would like to contribute to or 1. endow a specific program that especially interest you, or you might consider a grant to serve as a memorial to yourself or to honor a loved one. If you create a trust for a family member, you can provide for the remainder to be used for a philanthropic purpose.

IDEAS:
Wills - All or a portion of your estate can be willed to the El Paso Zoological Society.
Charitable Remainder Trust - This special kind of trust allows you to receive annually either a fixed amount, which will remain certain and unchanged, or a percentage of the trust assets as valued annually. You create your own separate trust to which you irrevocably transfer money or securities or both. You provide that after your lifetime the remaining trust principal will be distributed to the El Paso Zoological Society.
Life Insurance - Life insurance can provide that the proceeds are payable to the El Paso Zoological Society.
Real Estate - Real estate can be donated to the El Paso Zoological Society at any time or as designated through your will.

Planned Giving can benefit your family, enhance the El Paso Zoo and the quality of life in our entire community!

An El Paso Zoological Society planned giving donation can offer supporters a unique opportunity to contribute a charitable gift to the El Paso Zoo while providing for your own needs, and those of loved one.
