El Paso Zoological Society

The El Paso Zoological Society is proud to be the sponsor for all volunteers at the El Paso Zoo. Volunteers are truly the "backbone" for all education programming, special fundraising events and Zoological Society planning for the El Paso Zoo. Volunteers range from education docents, gardeners, graphics technicians, animal health care technicians to office assistants.

Roots & Shoots Teen Volunteers

Education docents at the El Paso Zoo go through an intensive process where over a period of six weeks they are trained by zoo professionals to care for the zoo's education animals, give science lectures in schools, tours of the zoo, serve as exhibit hosts and rove with the education animals. Our education docents also routinely visit nursing homes with education animals.

People interested in volunteering at the
